ΕΚΚΛΗΣΙΕΣ ΤΩΝ ΑΡΧΑΝΩΝ~ CHURCHES AT THE ARCHANES

ΕΚΚΛΗΣΙΑ ΥΠΑΠΑΝΤΗΣ ΑΡΧΑΝΕΣ Είναι κτίσμα της β.Βυζ, περιόδου με αγιογραφίες, καλά συντηρημένες του 14ου αιώνα.Καμαροσκέπαστη με δύο ενισχυτικές ζώνες. Από τις αγιογραφίες της στο μεν ιερό, διακρίνουμε την “Πλατυτέρα” και επάνω κύκλοι με στηθάρια αγίων. Στην καμάρα την “Ανάληψη” με τη δόξα ελλειπτική και επιμήκης. Οι Άγγελοι σε κίνηση. Στο ανατολικό τμήμα ξεχωρίζουν, “η Γέννηση” , “Η Υπαπαντή” με τον προφήτη Άννα να είναι πίσω από τον Συμεών.”Η Βάπτιση” με τον Χριστό γυρισμένο κατά τα 3/4 αριστερά, όπου στέκει κι ο Βαπτιστής και τέλος υπολείμματα από τη “Μεταμόρφωση”. Στο Δυτικό τμήμα διακρίνονται,”Η Βιοφόρος”,”Η ΄Εγερση του Λαζάρου”,”Γυναίκες στον τάφο”,την “Εις ΄Αδου Κάθοδον”,υπολείμματα από την αποκαθήλωση με το ιδιαίτερο χαρακτηριστικό ότι, δεξιά ένας άνθρωπος ανεβασμένος σε σκάλα ξεκαρφώνει. Επίσης βλέπουμε τον “Επιτάφιο”, τον “Ευαγγελισμό”,” Τη Γέννηση της Θεοτόκου” και τα “Εισόδια”. Οι κύριες παραστάσεις είναι μεγάλες κι επιμήκεις. Στα πρόσωπα η σάρκα είναι θερμή, ωχρή, με λίγα φώτα.Τα χαρακτηριστικά όλων είναι οι κόκκινες γραμμές, πράγμα που δείχνει ότι οι τοιχογραφίες αυτές είναι των αρχών του 14ου αιώνα.
