ΑΔΗΣ Στην αρχαία Ελλάδα υπήρχαν πολλοί μύθοι και παραδόσεις για τον Κάτω Κόσμο, τον τόπο της λησμονιάς και του σκότους. Σε αυτή την χώρα των σκιών βασίλευε ο θεός Άδης, ένας από τους τρεις Κρονίδες, τα παιδιά του Κρόνου και της Ρέας. Ο Άδης είχε για αδέλφια του την Εστία, την Ήρα, την Δήμητρα, τον Ποσειδώνα, τον Δία και έναν ετεροθαλή αδελφό τον Κένταυρο Χείρωνα, από την νύμφη Φιλύρα. Μετά την νίκη των Ολύμπιων θεών στον πόλεμο με τους Τιτάνες ο Άδης απέκτησε με κλήρο την κυριαρχία του Κάτω Κόσμου . Το όνομά του ταυτίστηκε με τον μελαγχολικό τόπο όπου συγκεντρώνονταν οι ψυχές των νεκρών. Επηρέαζε όμως και τους ζωντανούς αφού επίβλεπε την τήρηση των κανόνων της δικαιοσύνης και εκδικείτο τους επίορκους. Ταυτόχρονα, έχοντας το βασίλειό του μέσα στη Γη, η οποία παράγει τους καρπούς, θεωρείτο συγχρόνως και θεός της αφθονίας και μετονομάζεται ως Πλούτων - «πλούτος». Ως Πλούτωνας, μεταβάλλεται σε έναν θεό ευεργέτη, μέσω της ευφορίας που σκορπάει στην γη. Η μεταβολή αυτή αποδίδεται κυρίως στην αρπαγή της Περσεφόνης που συνδέει τα Ελευσίνια Μυστήρια με το Ολύμπιο πάνθεον σε μια πρώιμη αλληγορία, ζωή-θάνατος-ανάσταση. Ως Πλούτωνας, λοιπόν, είναι κάτοχος και χορηγός του πλούτου της γης, ακόμη και των μετάλλων, προπάντων όμως είναι ο φύλακας και δωρητής του πλούτου των δημητριακών και έτσι συνδέεται με τη θεά Δήμητρα και την καλή σοδειά. Η συσχέτιση του Πλούτωνα με την ευφορία της γης συμπεραίνεται και από το κυρίαρχο σύμβολό του, το κέρας της Αμάλθειας. HADES In ancient Greece there were many myths and traditions about the Underworld, the place of oblivion and darkness. In this land of shadows reigned the god Hades, one of the three Kronides, the children of Saturn and Rhea. Hades had as his siblings Hestia, Hera, Demeter, Poseidon, Zeus and a half-brother, the Centaur Chiron, from the nymph Philyra. After the victory of the Olympian gods in the war with the Titans, Hades won by lot the sovereignty of the Underworld. His name was identified with the melancholy place where the souls of the dead gathered. But he also influenced the living since he supervised the observance of the rules of justice and took revenge on the conspirators. At the same time, having his kingdom in the Earth, which produces the fruits, he was also considered the god of abundance and was renamed as Pluton - "wealth". As Pluto, he transforms into a benefactor god through the euphoria he spreads on earth. This change is mainly attributed to the rapture of Persephone which connects the Eleusinian Mysteries with the Olympian pantheon in an early allegory, life-death-resurrection. As Pluto, therefore, he is the owner and sponsor of the wealth of the earth, even of metals, but above all he is the guardian and giver of the wealth of cereals and is thus associated with the goddess Demeter and the good harvest. The association of Pluto with the euphoria of the earth is also inferred from its dominant symbol, the horn of Amalthea.
